Pies!

 I love making pies and for some reason, my son keeps asking for them. But, not the ones I normally make such as  apple, blueberry or lemon meringue, he wants strawberry rhubarb and cherry, 

So, here are the pie recipes I like to use to provide treats for my family. I use recipes from my favorite bakers and make tweaks. If I make a tweak, I'll indicate below the recipe link.

 

FOR all recipes, I add approximately 1/4 more fruit than called for. I like a lot of fruit in my pies.

 Strawberry Rhubarb

I use Pillsbury Pie crust. Always works and saves a ton of time.

 

Strawberry Crumble

I use the crumble from the Tart Cherry pie below because I didn't have oats. If I had them, i would certainly create the crumble from this recipe.

 

Tart Cherry

The unique part of this is the addition of balsamic vinegar. I could not find tart cherries, so I used frozen cherries. Since you add lemon juice it is tart enough.

 

French Apple

I also add 1 tablespoon of vanilla.
